Trust In The Lord

Trust in the Lord with all your heart , And lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him , And He shall direct your paths. [Proverbs 3:5-6]

Trust is the firm belief in the reliability, truth, or ability of someone or something.

When God says to trust in Him with all our heart, He means believing in His reliability, His Word, His ability and His strength. A lot of the times, Christians tend to look at how grave the situation is that they find themselves in or at the enormity of the task that lies ahead, then based on their own understanding of what the matter looks like  conclude that it is impossible to sail through it all.

Rather than leaning on our own understanding, and letting doubt creep into our minds and hearts, God admonishes us to trust in His reliability, His strength, His ability to order our steps through it all.

I was faced with a challenge somewhere 2018 at my first station where by then I had served for five years in a very remote part of the country. No lights, no network made my stay there very difficult.

I wanted to leave and come back to the Capital City so badly that I spoke to one of my supervisors to help me. He took some money with the promise of getting me the transfer. It didn’t materialize. For two years, I lived in frustration and despair. But one day, it dawned on me to talk to God about it in prayer and without paying a dime, He lined up all the right people to get it done .

People who ordinarily, one wouldn’t be able to call randomly. They reached to me and did everything for me.

The lesson to me was to not lean on my own understanding but to trust in Him.

Beloved, “God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said , and will He not do? Or has He spoken , and will He not make it good? [Numbers 23:19]

Let’s trust in the Lord and he will truly order our steps. He has done great things for us and He is yet to do greater things.

Trust and Obey!
