2 Peter 1:4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
Many times Christians want to experience God and His promises in diverse ways and moments but never build a relationship with God. Consider how difficult it is for one to have an experience with another, if there is no relationship, connection or participation with the other party. One may hear of an incident or event but to experience it, you have to be there yourself, participate or be connected to the event.
Consider also, how difficult it is to experience what goes on in a family if you are not part or connected to the family. The scripture above brings us to the understanding that God has given us great promises and by these promises we may experience God’s nature or become partakers or associates of the God-kind.
Relationship is very pivotal in the Christian journey. The scriptures says in John 1:12 NIV,
[12] Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.
We have received the right to son-ship(relationship) because of our faith in Jesus as the one who died and arose for us. God has given us the right to acknowledge Him as our father and to build a relationship with Him. By this relationship we have with Him, He reveals unto us His great plans and purposes for us. By this relationship, He reveals unto us what eyes have not seen, what no ears have heard and what no mind has perceived. All because of the love relationship that we have with Him(1 Corinthians 2:9).
Now Do you see God as your father? What kind of relationship do you have with Him?
We are saved into a relationship.
We are called into a relationship.
We grow up through a relationship.
We are not deceived because of the relationship.
We are united by relationship.
We will be saved because of the relationship we have with God through His son Jesus.
Christianity is all about relationship with God and man as illustrated on the cross of Jesus. A vertical relationship with God and a horizontal relationship with man. That’s what Jesus came to die for.
A personal intimate relationship with Jesus is the only way we can come to know Jesus and to be changed to become like Him.
Here is the testimony of the Samaritans.
John 4:42 TPT
[42] The Samaritans said to the woman, “Now we’ve heard him ourselves. We no longer believe just because of what you told us, but we’re convinced that he really is the true Savior of the world!”
” Wow!”
Build a relationship with God to experience more of Him. God loves you.
